New Micro Layout!

Well, after a very good response from send in my first micro layout to the late Carl Arendt's E-zine about micro layouts, I have decided that I am going to start a new micro layout.  The pictures pretty much explain what I am doing.

Here is what I am using for the layout.  It is an old cabinet that I found lying on the side of the road.  It measures 11.5 inches by 27 inches on the inside and 12 inches by 30 inches on the outside.
Here is what I am thinking for a track plan, the holes cut in the sides will provide an entrance into the "stage" which is the interior of the cabinet.

overhead lights will help to illuminate the scenes and help me see when working on the layout.

I also may be able to have only half the layout seen at a time.  perhaps each half can be two different industries?

  1. Are those three lights stick-on LEDs. I saw some at an auto dealers but passed.

    1. Yes those are stick on LED's. You have to be careful as to which ones you by because some of those fixtures need to be screwed on, while others (like mine) have a rotating lock mechanism. In other words, you have to get the kind that attach like a smoke alarm, otherwise you'll run out of battery an won't be able to change them.
